SHORT STOP

So back in the day in the 70's we used to skip out  from school and smoke weed and prowl for munchies.

Back than the high schools were segregated by sex to dodge the integration laws.

The fact that our high school was all boys made skipping out pretty easy.

The men in charge looked the other way while tetestorone left the building

To this day i  still kid my little brother for going to Grace King i.e. a girls school.

One of our favorite skip out joints was the Short Stop on  the corner of Airline and "Transcon".

They had the  sloppyest  roastbeef  plus 

"swimps" po-boys that were over flowing with "swimps" on the butcher paper.

A Cheech and Chong munchie wet dream.

They were all  drenched in blue plate mayo like a bunny mathews cartoon in the old figaro paper.

So now  i'm middle aged i'm tooling down airline to get some cheap gas at sams club and lo and behold.

the old short stop has moved and they have striped it's skin to reveal an even older joint with signs of cabins and package booze.

i thought i was old school only to learn there was an older school.

anybody with info on this joints earlier life please write about it.
